Charlie Challenge has over the years done great self less service fighting off among the most terrible of diseases. The organization has done well in dealing with childhood brain tumor research. Nigel Boutwood saw his little son diagnosed with the dreadful disease, who was suffering from brain tumor. Luckily for the little one, he made it through and fought back against the tumor coming out victorious. This is where the idea for Charlie Challenge was born in the heart and mind of Boutwood. The Horam-based charity is now looking at launching a national campaign on a really mass scale. It is ambitiously looking at raising as much as £7 million for seven Centres of Hope. One may as well volunteer to give twenty three days’ research a year. This would go on for the coming 3 years. The research for the same will be taking place at the first Brain Tumour Research centers of excellence. The center is located at the University of Portsmouth. Thus one sees so many of the survivors who have themselves cheated death helping out others and selflessly at that.

Then there are those who have seen a dear one suffer pathetically. Actress Sheila Hancock, who is also the chancellor of the university, had her own grandson Jack suffer from brain tumor as well. She is helping out the charity at garnering as much as one million sterling pounds on annual basis. Talking of statistics, things have got better with time as far as cancer is concerned. The Happy Faces Charitable Trust, commonly called Faces, is a non-profit organization. The Gibraltar Charities Commission in January 2008 established this charity. The main aim of this trust is to help the young adults and children of Gibraltar who are suffering from debilitating and chronic diseases.

Due to the chronic illnesses, the affected children and young people had to lead a miserable life. Without proper treatment, it was becoming difficult to survive. Most of the money earned was being used up for the treatment of the chronic illness. The Happy Faces Charitable Trust was aware of this problem and decided to give chronic illness support to the affected people. FLIP or Future Leaders In Philanthropy also offered to support Happy Faces Charitable Trust to provide chronic illness support.

FLIP successfully organized a corporate fundraising quiz night to collect money for Happy Faces Charitable Trust, which in turn provided total chronic illness support to the needy. The Corporate fundraising quiz was held on February 25, 2010 at the Savannah Lounge Ocean Village, and over 150 people attended this fantastic quiz competition. The organizers of the quiz ensured that the quiz competition happened in a smooth manner. There were 14 Gibraltar-based companies that were battling for the title of Faces Brainiest Bunch 2010. A FLIP student named Dhiraj Nagrani had organized this corporate quiz event.

The quiz event started off with an emotional speech given by Stefan Olivero, and it was accompanied by an incredible display by the 1st/4th Gibraltar Scout Group Corps of Drums.
